Party in the sukkah

September 29th, 2007 No comments

We held a very special party for Suzanne tonight, celebrating in our Sukkah, the night falling within Sukkot. Suzanne’s birthday was last Friday, but since it fell on Kol Nidre, we could not celebrate that night, or the next night, as we were too worn out from Yom Kippur.

The timing of the holidays turned out well in the end, as Suzanne was very excited to get a sukkah of her own. She bought herself a nice kit for her birthday, and we assembled it last Monday and Tuesday, in time for the beginning of Sukkot.

This brings us to our party Saturday night. Suzanne invited all of her work and personal friends for dinner and partying. We started with Havdalah, followed by Suzanne shaking her lulav and etrog. Dinner followed, including bagel dogs, sausages, grilled chicken, fried salmon, sides and desert. As traditional, we closed with beer and marshmallow roasting by the fire pit.
